The disappearing act

I'm back!...I'm not sure where I went, but rest assured I'm fine, no injuries or memory loss....just a general feeling of missing something. Apologies for the unattended blog of late, but life and full time work seem to be hijacking all my free time. Sewing has continued very sporadically behind the scenes, but I am pleased to share with you my latest etsy offerings. I did make these frame clutches a little while back, but thought it was time that they get their share of etsy time. I also have a selection of smaller coin purses currently underway, just in time for this Friday's BrisStyle Twilight market, 5-9pm in King George Square, Brisbane.

Weekend market wrap-up

Thanks to everyone who came to the BrisStyle Indie Designers Market on Saturday. Despite the rainy/windy/hot (obviously confused) weather, it turned out to be a great day. Thanks to Nick from Collecting Feathers who shared the space with me. The new bags were a hit so I have plenty of sewing to do in the lead up to the Twilight and Christmas markets. I have a few bags remaining which I'll list on etsy in the next week or so - stay tuned!

A few shots from Saturday of A Creature Strange, Collecting Feathers and Jetta's Nest.

Springtime accessories

I'm proud to present my latest bag release, just in time for spring! These cute and funky handbags will be making their debut at Saturday's BrisStyle Indie Market at Hamilton. There are only a few available so get in quick. I'll also have a range of large clip frame clutches, yo-yo necklaces and brooches available, so drop by and say hello :)

MIA

Ok, not quite MIA, but definitely a little absent from the blog lately. Sometimes life gets really busy and little things you love to do (like blogging), sadly get left behind. Things are still very busy at work, house hunting has begun and all the painfully boring things that go along with it, but I have managed to start making a new range on bags on the weekend (pictures to come) just in time for the BrisStyle Designers Market on Saturday 4 September. Oh, and I did manage to fit in a weeks break with my boyfriend in Sydney and the Hunter Valley. Just what we needed!

New pieces

Just a couple of new pieces that I've been working on (while not feeling sick and miserable!). I'll have these guys available next Friday night (30 July) at the BrisStyle Twilight Market in King George and Saturday at the Red Hill Fair (31 July).

Designer Market wrap-up

A big thanks to everyone who dropped by to support me at the recent BrisStyle market. Also, a big thanks to Nicole from Hot Toffee who shared my stall with me and made the day even more enjoyable. Here are a few shots from the day (the last 3 are of Hot Toffee's amazing products!). Unfortunately I wasn't able to unveil my latest product on Saturday (just wasn't quite ready!) but I'll have a few photos to share in the coming days!

One more sleep!

Only one more sleep until the BrisStyle Indie Designers Markets! If you're a Brisbane local make sure you drop by St Augustine's Church grounds on Racecourse Rd, Hamilton on tomorrow (Sat 5 June) to pick up some fabulous locally made handcrafted goodies! I'll be there sharing a stall with Hot Toffee, and will have a few new items for sale! {I'll hopefully be able to share a sneak peek later today}. In keeping with the current sale fever that's hitting our stores I'll also have some discounted items for sale.

Hope to see you there!

Twilight Markets wrap-up

A big thanks to all of you that dropped by my stall at the BrisStyle Twilight Market last friday night. As it was the first of these events we were a little unsure of how it would go, but it proved to be a fantastic night! There are a few more planned for this year, the next on July 30, so if you missed out on the last market make sure you pencil in the next!

Here are a few shots of my stall taken by the lovely Bec (and stall neighbour) from Where's Becky Bean.

Shining under the stars

Just a quick reminder to all you Brisbanites that tomorrow night is BrisStyle's first Twilight market. Pop on down to King George Square in the city from 5pm, pick up a few fabulous handmade goodies, soak up the fun atmosphere and have a great time in the recently renovated King George Square. There'll also be some live tunes to keep you grooving! I'll be sharing a co-op stall with a few other BrisStyle girls, so keep an eye out!

Ramblings

Sorry about the lack of posts again lately! I've acquired a new full time job so have been too exhausted after work to put together a half decent sentence, let alone a blog post! It's good to be back out working with other creative types after freelancing solo for a while.

Things are starting to get exciting on the BrisStyle front with heaps of new markets this year and new logos and graphics which I've also been working on. The inaugural Twilight Indie Design Market kicks off in less than two weeks in King George Square, Brisbane City where I'll be in one of the co-op stalls with a range of clutches, bags, necklaces and brooches. Very exciting!

And to keep the tradition going, I present 'Poster Tuesday', film posters with all images courtesy of Terry Posters.

11.4.10

what I've been up to

Involves lots of little colour disks, scattered all over my coffee table, filling up bowls, hiding under the couch. I think they are breeding when I'm not in the room. I've managed to control them though, stitching them together to make it harder to escape. Some have been transformed into necklaces, others brooches. All will be available as the BrisStyle Indie Twilight Market, April 30 in King George Square from 5pm.

March market wrap-up

A big thanks to all of you who braved the drizzly wet conditions to come to Saturday's BrisStyle market! Although not nearly as busy as December's, the market was still great fun, and great to chat and say hello to all of you who dropped by A Creature Strange's Stall!

A special thankyou to my little stall helpers on the day who helped me setup, pack up and kept me laughing in-between!

I had grand plans on photographing some bags to list online today, but the overcast weather is making that a little difficult! Hopefully some great photography weather will come my way in the next few days. In the meantime a few yo-yo necklaces have been listed on my Made It store.

Don't miss out!

Where have you been I hear you ask?! Well, I've been speedily cutting, sewing and making in preparation for this Saturday's BrisStyle Indie Designers Market! Don't miss out on this years very first BrisStyle market with heaps of fantastic local crafts and goodies. Here's a few goodies that I'll be selling on the day.

Look out for A Creature Strange's outdoor stall. Rain, hail or shine I'll be there...drop on by and say hello!

Market wrap-up

Phew! The big day is all over now! I've officially survived my first market! Had a fantastic day yesterday at the BrisStyle market, slight sunburn, a little dehydration and sore biceps from helping hold the marquee down in the sudden wind bursts, but all round a great day! Shared my stall with the fabulous Melanie from Kimono Reincarnate – thanks for keeping me company and making it such a good day! Also a big thanks to all of you who came out to support the market, especially those that came to visit and purchase from me :)

I have a few items left so I'll be popping them online in the next day or two. I'll let you know what's available and when – so stay tuned!

Getting ready!

I'm been getting ready for tomorrow's BrisStyle market...finishing bags, making swing tags, signs, you name it! Drop on my and say hello, Sat 5 Dec at St Augustine's Church, Racecourse Rd, Hamilton!

30.11.09

market update

So you may have been wondering why the lack of posts...laziness? busy? bad memory? Well, yes, all those things are true, but mainly I've been a busy little bee, sewing for the upcoming markets! Here's a peek at some of my new bags that will be for sale on the day and through my etsy store (soon!).

I've also been making a few funky drawstring bags for the day - great eye-catching fabrics (I particularly like the birds!) and colours. Library bags, santa sacks...heaps of uses!

If you're a Brisbanite and need to get some christmas shopping done, or just feel like having a day out, come and visit the BrisStyle markets, this coming Saturday (5th Dec) at St Augustines Church grounds on Racecourse Rd, Hamilton. Heaps of locally made, fantastic handmade goods for sale. I'll be outside, so make sure you say hi!
